Event Information For ' War and Peace Revival'

Date: 16 July 2014-20 July 2014 Times:
Car Information: The 'V' Marquee "V" stands for Victory, Veterans, Vintage, Variety and Value - presented by our Host Viv the Spiv and served with Vim, Verve, Vigour and a dash of VaVaVoom! With an exciting programme of entertainment (buy a programme for the full line up), plenty of seating, a full bar service, vintage fashion displays, hair and beauty demonstrations, book signings and a whole lot more, the "V" Marquee offers a complimentary alternative to the high octane offerings of the Greatest Gathering of Military Vehicles on the Planet! During the day look out for regular surprise appearances by special guests, including well known cast members from the popular television series Allo Allo, while on Saturday at 2pm we have a special performance by the famed Military Wives Choir. In 2013 we had entertainment from Viv the Spiv, Paul Harper, The Swingtime Sweethearts, Adam Hoffman, Sincerely Yours, Scott Elvis, Kitten Von Mew and Luna Nightingale. Each day we had the energetic Jive Aces who introduced some very special guests, the Satin Dollz - who came all the way from the USA where their unique blend of vaudeville music and dance is a big hit from coast to coast! With help from some of the specialist dealers featured in our vintage market place, top stylist Natasha Hall from Pretty Me Vintage showed you how to get that authentic retro look without breaking the bank. There were also surprise makeovers for one of our lucky visitors each day. In 2013 evening entertainment for those staying onsite overnight included "V" is for Variety on Wednesday night and Blues on the Bayou on Thursday night. Ticketed events were Jump, Jive and Boogie with the Jive Aces on Friday night and The John Miller Orchestra on Saturday. A full programme of evening entertainment is below. Dance Hall Days Marquee in 2013 our brand new entertainment venue, the Dance Hall Days Marquee was the scene for those who really enjoy a dance. From around midday each day, you could take part in lessons and watch displays, then try out your moves in a variety of social dances from the 1930s to 1960s. In the evening the Dance Hall took on a Palais feel each night, with Jump and Jive, Swing, Sixties and Rock and Roll nights; the Swing night featured live performances from The Bevin Boys and The Three Belles! To round off the evening, we had a taste of late night life away from the bright lights of London's West End as we presented a sultry Moonlight Revue with a wartime theme. Evening entertainment for those staying onsite overnight included Jump & Jive on Wednesday, Swing, Swing, Swing on Thursday, The Sixties Scene on Friday and Let's Rock, Let's Roll, Let's Do the Stroll on Saturday.
