Event Information For ' Exeter trial'

Date: 03 January 2014-04 January 2014 Times: Contact MCC
Car Information: Not just vintage motor cycles but everything from an MG PBCream Cracker, Morris Minor, VW Beetle, Morris Marina, etc…. The youngest of the club's 'Big Three', this started in 1910 when the MCC broke new ground by introducing the “London to Exeter and Back Winter Club Run” on Boxing Day, when saner folk might be expected to be enjoying the warmth of the festive season with their families. To prove MCC members were, and still are, a race apart the event generated 81 entries on two, three and four wheels while within three years a dizzy 231 faced the starter. The western most start has been moved east to Sourton Cross, there will be a restart test for all classes at Windwhistle hill. There is a new hill, Underdown II, for classes A ? E & 1 -8, to make up for the loss of Meerhay; class ?O? will tackle the nearby Underdown I. Except for Class ?O?, which will again start at the Haynes Museum, there will be a Touring Assembly from the 3 Starts, with Popham starters being first away at 19:31; competitors from Sourton Cross will be away second followed finally by the starters from Cirencester. Competitors will be provided with a recommended route to the Haynes Motor Museum, which is the supper stop, and where the main Trial will start at 00:01; class ?O? will start at 01:01. The finish will be at Babbacombe as in previous years.
