Car Information: This was the home of Richard Shuttleworth, tragically killed in mysterious circumstances in 1940 at the age of 31 years. An energetic and wealthy young man he raced Bugattis and Afla-Romeos, won the Donnington Grand Prix in 1935. Aged only 24 he had flown a tiny monoplane to India and twice competed in the Kings Cup Air Race. The Shuttleworth collection of veteran cars, aeroplanes, cycles and steam engines is housed at the neighbouring airfield and the family home is now owned by Bedfordshire college.
Event Description: ***no 2013 dates yet*** A celebration of motoring in the beautiful setting of Old Warden Park, the ancestoral home of Richard Shuttleworth. All classes of cars and motorcycles invited to join us for our summer 'party' Arena with live commentary all day, selection of trade stalls with bar and catering on site. Childrens funfair rides and amusements and plenty of space to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine.
