Event Information For ' East Sutherland Classic Car Tour Scotland'

Date: 27 May 2017-27 May 2017 Times:
Car Information: Assemble in The Square, with Dornoch Cathedral, Jail and The Castle forming the background for the start to 2017’s Classic Car Tour. Take the chance to cast your eye over fellow entrants’ cars. To the sound of bagpipes head North towards the Castle of Mey, the most northerly castle on mainland Britain, acquired by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in the 1950s. After renovation it became her favourite venue for summer holidays. Now it is one of the Duke of Rothesay’s favourite residences. After enjoying lunch there, drive East to John o’ Groats. At the North-eastern tip of Britain, this small village owes its fame to being “At the End of the Road” for travellers from Land’s End. After having your photograph taken beneath the signpost, you will drive South enjoy the Caithness countryside and the rugged coastline. On return to Dornoch, register for your completion certificate and prepare for the evening’s ceilidh. No entry fee but last year drivers and their sponsors raised over £12,000, so please help us exceed that this year for RNLI and other charities
