It so captured the imagination that it was repeated the following year and continued to the present day making it one of the longest established motoring events in the world. Cars / Motorcycles / Sidecars DURATION: 14 HR DISTANCE: 185 miles START:23:00 Lichfield Rugby Club, Cooke Fields, Tamworth Road. END: 14:00 The Duke of York, Pomeroy, Derbyshire. Approx 15 sections and two observed tests within Derbyshire Staffordshire and Cheshire. Entries now closed.
About London to Edinburgh trial
It was a brave decision in 1904 by the fledgling Motor Cycling Club to inaugurate a competition which involved motorcycles travelling from London to Edinburgh in a limited time. Nowadays - It’s not in Edinburgh! Experience sunrise as you navigate your way round picturesque Derbyshire villages and take on some of the counties famous scrambles.

The MCC. November 1901. In a dimly lit London Café half a dozen enthusiasts for the new fangled motor cycle met and decided there should be an association for their fellow enthusiasts and so the Motor Cycling Club was born.
